About Us

The Western Province Majorette & Cheerleading Association (WPMCA) was established in 1981 (then known as CDMA – Cape Drum Majorettes Association). During 2012 we have incorporated cheerleading as an additional division to conform to our SAMCA affiliation. Western Province teams have annually taken part in the National Championships of SAMCA (South African Majorette & Cheerleading Association) since 1982. Teams who have been affiliated to the WPMCA since then are:

  • Hottentots Holland High School
  • Fairmont High School
  • The Settlers High School

After being in existence for more than 30 years, we are proud to say that the WPMCA currently has 24 teams affiliated across the primary and high school sections.

    Nationals 2015 - Newsletter 1

Nationals 2015 will be in Bloemfontein! FSMCA is looking forward in welcoming you in the Free State. We know everyone is already struggling to get accommodation and transport in place to get to the ‘City of Roses”. The accommodation will all go through one central point. FSMCA booked out the available hostel accommodation. We are in contact with a company that will help with accommodation for spectators. We will send out that information as soon as all information is on hand. Mariska Bouwer, secretary of FSMCA, will handle all the accommodation arrangements. All school organizers can contact Mariska on bouwerma@gmail.com for any information on prices, facilities etc. There will be accommodation available in different price ranges. We have secured a great venue and therefore we can announce the Nationals 2015 will take place at Tempe Military Base. Photos of the venue and facilities will be forwarded, when the proposed venue is accepted by die Executive members. We are looking forward to see you all soon. Regards Mia Wessels CHAIRPERSON mia15wes@yahoo.com
