The WPMCA was established in 1981 and is affiliated to the South African Majorettes and Cheerleading Association (SAMCA). Through SAMCA we are affiliated to the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC)

Majorette-Sport World Federation (MWF) SAMCA is also affiliated to the ICU (International Cheer Union) and the MWF (Majorette-Sport World Federation) and compete at both federations' international world championships.
